Gettysburg, May 1997
The Webelos and Scouts together went to Gettysburg. We had a great time learning about the battle and how this battle was the most critical of the Civil War. Be sure to read Killer Angels to learn more about the battle. The movie Gettysburg is based on this book.
Below is the field where Pickett led his final charge. A beautiful place, but too many brave men lost their lives here on bloody afternoon.
Fall Camporee, October 1997, Spruce Knob, W.Va.
The fall camporee was held in one of the most beautiful sites in West Virginia. The site is owned by the Mountain Institute. We had incredible weather and fellowship. You should have seen the stars at night!
